Having sprung a surprise at Wolverhampton earlier in the month, Moulin Rouge backed up her recent second at Wolverhampton with her second career success in a low grade handicap at Lingfield.
As is so often the case, Stevie Donohoe gave her a lovely ride. She pulled very hard in her first couple of races, but Stevie has taught her to settle now.
Stevie had Moulin Rouge in mid-division before he swung wide into the straight. She showed a decent turn of pace to hit the front inside the final furlong before hanging on well for a narrow win.
Moulin Rouge won today off 48, having been successful at Wolverhampton off 46. The handicapper put her up to 50 this morning, so I will have a look at opportunities for her to run again in the next week or so.
