With three silver medals on Boxing Day, it was a relief and a reason to celebrate when Bobcatbilly won at Wetherby.
And he didn’t just win, he jumped well and made all under a positive ride from Jason Maguire to barely give me or his supporters a moments worry.
Bobcatbilly had shown his turn wasn’t too far away at Newbury last time, but, even so, today was a pleasure to watch.
Jason got a good tune from a horse who is not always the easiest and his jumping was fantastic, bordering on the spectacular.
He will take a hike in the handicap ratings for this success, but, I will be disappointed if we can’t find another opportunity in the New Year.
