A seriously impressive comeback from State Legend to win on his first start for more than a year at Chester under Joe Leavy.
He has been off the track since running 5th in the Chester Plate in mid-May 2024, but put up a great performance on the Roodee this afternoon.
Under pressure and looking set for no better than 4th off the home turn, his stamina was his forte in the closing stages and after hitting the front well inside the final furlong, he went on to win by a length and a half.
