Having on twice on the all-weather at Wolverhampton in March, Monjeni showed his versatility with a first victory on turf under Paul Hanagan at Haydock Park.
He was given a lovely ride by the former champion jockey, who coaxed and cajoled his mount along and in the end won well from the front running Jaameh.
