It’s never much fun saddling a long odds on favourite – you have everything to lose and not too much to gain, but Michael’s Mount did his job well at Ludlow this afternoon under Tom O’Brien.

The form of,his debut win at Doncaster has started to work out well with the 4th home winning before running 5th at the Festival, the 5th has won twice and the 7th has also been successful.

He then went on to run a respectable third in the Dovecote at Kempton, where the winner is now rated 149.

Despite jumping and hanging left and no giving Tom too much help, Michael’s Mount had enough class to take the lead at the second last and he ran on well after the final flight to win by almost four lengths.
