Being the sibling of a successful thoroughbred is no guarantee of success, but today Howaboutnow won for the fifth time in his career – the same number of victories posted by his older brother, Super Duty.
Whilst the Grand National bound Super Duty is rated 141, his year younger brother won today at Warwick off a mark of 115.
Howaboutnow was having just his second start for the year, having come from Donald McCain last summer.
He showed that two miles was too short at Sandown last month, but a 5lbs drop in the handicap and a step up to 2m5f at Warwick did the trick and he showed plenty of courage under pressure to win for the first time since November 2013.
Howaboutnow should continue to be competitive and could easily get three miles in time.
