Grand Gigolo recorded his first win on his seventh start over hurdles at Ludlow under a good ride from Maurice Linehan.
Stepping up to three miles, after his seasonal debut over a mile shorter, Grand Gigolo traveled kindly in midfield for Maurice Linehan as the early pace was no better than modest.
Grand Gigolo joined the lead at the third last and despite a slightly awkward leap two out, he stayed on the pace before forging clear after the last to win by two and a half lengths.
This was a modest contest, and Grand Gigolo was rated just 96, but he won well and can progress again from a higher mark.
Grand Gigolo is owned by Paul Downing, who also has Zafranagar racing in his colours, and his son is the useful apprentice jockey, George.
