First winner at Dundalk as Sir Maximilian wins

As I said in the Racing Post this morning, credit goes to Tim Pitt for ensuring that Sir Maximilian returned to Dominion Racing Stables in such good order.

Stevie Donohoe also deserves a big mention as he clearly has developed a wonderful affinity with this classy sprinter.

Coming to Dundalk off the back of such a good run in the Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp made him the form pick tonight, but horses don’t know what price they are, so it was still a matter of professional pride to get the job done and land my first winner at Dundalk.

Dundalk clearly shows how a facility can cope with both horse and greyhound racing, so I only hope that Towcester manage to make both operations work in tandem.

Sir Maximilian was recording his fourth win of the year, having already landed wins at Chester, the Curragh and Tipperary.

I will talk through options for Sir Maximilian with owner Paul Wildes, but there must be a chance that he will travel to Dubai later in the year to tackle some of the valuable handicaps and conditions races at Meydan.
