Diaktoros backed up his win in a Wolverhampton maiden last month with an all-the-way success under Stevie Donohoe in a handicap at Windsor.

As regular readers will know, Diaktoros came from Ben Haslam, having run with promise in bumpers in 2013/14.

It is always a thrill to train a winner, but especially so when it is for loyal and patient owners. Sotirios Hassiakos and Sir Alex Ferguson have always been a pleasure to deal with and they could continue to have fun with this decent dual-purpose prospect.

Diaktoros shouldn’t be too harshly penalised for the Windsor win, and should get further than 12f in time.
