Cruise Tothelimit showed his love of Haydock and was rewarded for a run of consistent form when getting his head in front at the Lancashire track for the third time.
This was his eleventh run on the sprint track at Haydock, and in addition to his three successes, he has been runner-up three times too, including twice this season.
Cruise has been a model of consistency this season, so he was definitely due a deserved win. He has been as high as 83 in the ratings, so it helped that his mark had slipped down to 77, a pound below his last winning mark.
He was electric out of the stalls under Paul Hanagan, gaining at least a length on his rivals, and although headed inside the final furlong, he battled back well to win by a neck from Bahamian Heights.
Cruise Tothelimit is entered at Thirsk tomorrow, and at Doncaster next Thursday, as well as holding an engagement in the William Hill Ayr Gold Cup.
