Autumn War benefitted from the fitting of cheekpieces and stepping up in trip to post a first win for the yard at Wolverhampton under David Probert.
The 5yr old was slow from the stalls and David held his mount up early as he tried to restrain him.
He still only had one rival behind him off the final bend, but racing wide up the straight he made good headway to challenge a furlong our and from that point the result was never in doubt.
The final winning margin was a length and three quarters but he was value for a bit more than that.
