Aqua Bear made a winning debut for the yard for Midtech in the Maiden at Newcastle under Dougie Costello.
After shifting left out of the stalls, Dougie soon had the favourite in a good position.
Asking for more from around two down, Aqua Bear showed a decent turn of foot to hit the front inside the furlong pole.
Seeing his race out well, he hit the line 1.25l in front.
