Legends come in many different forms, some are places like Xanadu, some are heroes like Robin Hood, some are online like Zelda, some appear at Glastonbury each June, but at Dominion Racing Stables the moniker is given to those who match ability, longevity, adaptability and character … one such Legend is Sir Maximilian.
He joined our yard after his initial campaign in 2012, and immediately made his mark by winning at Newmarket off 84. By the time he finished racing in July 2021, Sir Maximilian had won 12 times from 78 starts, reached a high rating of 112 and his victories included Listed wins at Tipperary & The Curragh, multiple handicaps plus the Group 3 Meydan Sprint in 2015 under Kieren Fallon.
Owner Paul Wildes said, “Max is living his best life now at Peel Hall where my mares and foals also live. We visit him often as does Megan to provide him with carrots and the odd polo mint! Max is the horse who started my love of racing and race horses and holds a very special place in our hearts!
