Macanudo got his head in front for the first time for the yard when landing the 5f handicap at Wolverhampton on Tuesday evening under Billy Loughnane.
The five-year-old travelled well throughout the race and, having been produced to challenge in the closing stages, showed a good attitude to battle all the way to the line. He found plenty for pressure to get the better of Henery Hawk by a neck, securing a well-deserved success for the Giddy Up You Good Thing Racing Syndicate.
It was a particularly pleasing result for his owners, who have been incredibly patient with Macanudo, and we were delighted to be able to reward that patience with a first winner for them since joining the yard.
Billy gave him a well-judged ride and Macanudo showed a great attitude when it mattered, getting his head in front where it counted.
Hopefully this can be the start of an enjoyable run of form for Macanudo, and we look forward to seeing what he can achieve from here.
