One of the joys of summer is going to the Sales and sourcing new long-term prospects.

There is tremendous personal and professional pleasure in studying Sales catalogues, then looking at, sometimes, hundreds of untried prospects in the paddocks before going to the Ring and seeing what I can buy within my target budget.

Seeing my purchases then come home and watch them settle in and develop is a fascinating and also interesting aspect to the training game.

This summer, I went to Ireland and came back with a quartet of such prospects.

They are all out in a field together close to the main yard, and I think each and every one of them could make lovely jumping prospects for years to come.

The quality isn’t going to win me any filming awards, but please have a look at these clips …
