Ernesto followed up his win in a maiden hurdle at Exeter last time with victory in handicap company at Uttoxeter under Robbie Dunne.
After racing in the pack for most of the race, Robbie made a move to get competitive off the home turn.
Ernesto came under pressure three out, but stayed on well and led at the last.
Running on well, Ernesto went on to beat Bucko’s Boy by a length and a quarter at the line.
