After frustrating near misses with Gas Line Boy at Uttoxeter and Portway Flyer at Newton Abbot, it was good to get our first winner of the new jumps session with Byron Flyer winning at Plumpton.

It has certainly been a 24 hours that Toby Wheeler won’t forget!
Having spent fours in A&E last night after being kicked at evening stables, he bounced back to steer Byron Flyer home in front at Plumpton.
His jumping wasn’t always fluent, but he was still in touch coming to the home turn, and then Toby set Byron Flyer alight with a decisive move between horses on the bend.
Byron Flyer has now won twice over hurdles, after opening his account on the flat and looks the sort to improve with experience.
