Maharajas Express came from last-to-first to win over 5f at Wolverhampton under David Probert.
Dropped out from his wide draw, the 5yr old was still swinging off the bit turning for home with all his rivals ahead of him.
Weaving his way through, Maharajas Express hit the front inside the final furlong and held on to win by half a length.
He could turn out under a penalty at Southwell on Saturday.
