Giselles Defence for Crown Racing backed up the promise of his debut run for the yard at Nottingham by winning at Pontefract under substitute rider Clifford Lee.
After racing in mid-div, Clifford got his mount into contention before the home turn.
Hitting the front before the final furlong, Giselles Defence stayed on strongly and won by four lengths.
