Freud won for the first time in the UK and for the first time since his debut success in France in 2013 when landing a 10f handicap at Chelmsford in mid-January.
Bought by Jeff Tredwell earlier in the month, he showed his turn wasn’t far away when a close up 4th at Wolverhampton on his previous start.
George Downing brought Freud to challenge inside the final furlong and won well from Comanche Chieftain.
His first UK run in February last year was from a mark of 92, so his success today off 70 gives his some scope to progress, and jumps enthusiast Jeff will be keen to see him trying hurdles later in the year.
