When Brasted won at Chelmsford City on 15th October 2015, it completed my record of having saddled a winner at every racecourse in Great Britain.

The Essex venue is fast becoming a favourite with me for another reason – this year I’ve sent five runners to the track and four have won, but also, the prizemoney is very healthy – a positive and welcome policy from the course owners and management.

Freud carried a 6lbs penalty for his win five days ago, but I offset that by using George Downing and his useful 3lbs allowance.

George always had Freud well placed and took advantage of the gap on the rail inside the final 2f to win a shade easily.
