First Assignment made a winning start to his 2018/19 season with a game, and very narrow, success at Cheltenham under a strong ride from Tom Scudamore.
Always well placed, First Assignment got closer to the leaders at the top of the hill.
Making his challenge from the home turn, he had every chance when upsides at the last, but it was only when his stamina came into play close home that he got the verdict on the nod.
He runs like a longer trip will suit, and he’s now proved his versatility as regards the ground.
