Faithful Mount bounces back to form at Chester

Faithful Mount has dropped down the handicap, but even so, it was a good effort by the veteran stayer to bounce back and post win number nine and take his career earnings to close on £100,000.

Kieran O’Neill bounced the veteran stayer out of the stalls and set out to make all the running.

He got into a sweet rhythm up front and he stepped on the gas from three furlongs out.

Responding generously to pressure inside the closing stages, the 9yr old stuck on gamely to win by two and a half lengths.
