Cause Toujours won well on his debut for the yard last month, and completed a double when stepping into handicap company for the first time at Aintree under Tom O’Brien.

Despite a pedestrian early pace, Cause Toujours didn’t pull too hard and was always travelling well for Tom.

His jumping, particularly down the back straight was quick and slick.

He joined issue three out and the result was never in doubt from that point on.

The eventual wining margin over Parthenius was a length and three-quarters.
