Autumn War was an impressive winner at Wolverhampton at the start of the month, and backed that performance up with another victory at Dunstall Park, this time from a 5lb higher mark in the handicap.
Once again he was slowly into stride, but the pace wasn’t strong early and he easily tucked in behind the leaders for the opening mile.
Having run wide into the final straight, he made good headway on outside chasing leader from two furlongs out and led with half a furlong to run.
Staying on strongly, the final winning margin was a neck.
