Appy Days wins at Lingfield – number 1,000!

Appy Days carrying the racing colours for Lee Westwood, but also owned by Masters winner Danny Willett and their manager Chubby Chandler made a winning start for the partnership by winning the bumper at Lingfield.

She was always going well in the hands of Tom O’Brien, and when she was let loose on the home turn, she bounded clear, eventually winning by nine lengths!

That’s my second bumper winner of the month, both by King’s Theatre and both part-owned by Chubby Chandler – a winning combination.

And, more importantly, she was my 1,000th winner as a trainer – 989 in this county, plus wins in Dubai, France and Ireland.

This is a milestone in my career, but it could not have been achieved without the support of my family, my landlord Pat Kelly, my owner and my staff – so whilst my name on the licence, it is a team effort.

Now onto the next 1,000!!
