Almost Gold for Simon Cox finally got off the mark over fences by winning at Huntingdon under Tom O’Brien.

He jumped left on occasions but was always in the chasing group. The 7yr old  was left in second 3 out and Tom got after him on the turn for home.

After being hampered by loose horse and switched left at the last, he kept on to lead final half furlong and held on to win by a neck.

Almost Gold had run well here on his last start at Huntingdon and clearly was suited by the return to the track
